Jun 13, 2024, 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM EDT

Philly Cheese School, 701 S 9th St, Philadelphia, PA 19147, USA

About the event

Pennsylvania is one of the top cheese-producing states in the nation, with a long history of dairy production dating back to the days of colonization. For the past 20 years or so, the state has experienced a boom in artisan cheesemaking centered around Southeast Pennsylvania. In this class, we’ll learn about the state’s dairy and cheesemaking history and about its cheesemaking renaissance that began in the early 2000s and continues today, then taste through several standout wheels produced in the Keystone State.

Philly cheese author and expert, Alexandra Jones will be in the house to offer a tasting of 5 stunning cheeses to help us in our exploration of our beloved region. All levels of cheese expertise - from novice to nerd - are welcome!

After class, participants will have access to the PCS Classroom Gift Shop, stocked with PCS merchandise and a rotating selection of cheese-themed gift items.
