Honey & Cheese Class w/ Half Mad Honey

We're buzzing with excitement to bring you a unique tasting experience that’s bound to be the bee's knees! Local beekeepers from Half Mad Honey are flying in with their Philly-made golden goodies, and we’re pairing them with some of the finest artisanal cheeses to taste. Celia Bell, a honey bee expert from Half Mad Honey, will be in the classroom to not just share her delicious honeys, but to shed light on the process of keeping bees and harvesting their honey in an urban setting. And of course we'll have PCS's Julia Birnbaum there to present some of her favorite cheeses to pair with honey, and talk all about how they were created. Together, Celia and Julia, will offer insights on how to pair honey with cheese and other foods.

This is not just a class—it's an experience. You'll learn a little, laugh a lot, and taste your way through the magical world where honey meets cheese. Whether you're a cheese connoisseur, a honey fanatic, or just someone who loves to try new things, this class is for you!

After class you'll be able to buy some of the unqiue products that Half Mad Honey offers, all from their bee hives located in South Philly's Navy Yard.

More About Celia Bell and Half Mad Honey:

Celia Bell is a honey bee expert with Half Mad Honey, whose Navy Yard apiary offers hive tours and apiary therapy--in addition to delicious, small batch local honey. Celia cut her teeth in beekeeping working with Two Hives Honey, a beekeeping company based out of Austin, Texas. Outside of the bee yard, she's a writer whose work has appeared in VQR, The White Review, and other magazines, and whose first novel, The Disenchantment, was published in 2023.

• In order to receive a full refund or reschedule, cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to the scheduled event.
• This page will only show the amount of tickets which are still available for purchase. For example, if you are only able to buy 1 ticket then that means only one seat remains in class.
